地道に調べ物。。。仕入れた掛け軸など古いものを扱っていると時には分からないこともあります(全てがわかる人がいたらそれは不自然かも知れません)。分からないものは地道に調べて結論を出さなければいけません。時間がかかることもあります。画像の掛け軸の場合は署名がなく花押(サイン)だけでした。ヒントを探して図書館に行き調べて今回は作者を見つけることができました。こうした積み重ねが経験になっていくので一生地道に続けていきたいですね。

Diligent Research… When dealing with antique items like the hanging scrolls we’ve acquired, there are times when I don’t know the answer (though it would be unnatural if anyone knew everything). When I don’t know something, I have to diligently research it to reach a conclusion. This can sometimes take a long time. In the case of the hanging scroll shown in the photo, there was no signature—only a seal mark. I went to the library to look for clues, and this time I was able to identify the artist. These small steps add up to experience, so I want to keep at it steadily.
